MOSCOW, Aug 7 (PRIME) -- Gold consumption of Russia’s jewelry industry rose 1% on the year to 16.45 tonnes, or 528,879 ounces, in January–June, a representative for the Assay Chamber of Russia told PRIME on Tuesday.
The industry’s silver consumption fell 14.6% on the year to 60.34 tonnes in the period.
Russia’s gold jewelry production grew to 15.15 million items with a total weight of 27.41 tonnes while silver jewelry production contracted to 9.28 million items with the weight of 60.34 tonnes.
